Weaver is a mean- I dont like Ump's but this guy is brilliant. I wish I could find '77 Danny Ozark and Tim McCarver ganging up on home plate ump.

@GeorgeInCincinnati Billy Martin was lucky that he had George Steinbrenner to hire and fire him 5 separate times.Martin also burned his bridges in every other city with every other boss he ever worked for.
If you read Reggie Jacksons book he would tell you that Earl Weaver was 5 times the manager that Billy Martin was.Reggie Jackson also said that Earl Weaver yelled at him in front of his 1976 Orioles teammates on a bus once and told him he better conform to his tie policy.

@GeorgeInCincinnati really?Ed Whitson whipped Billy Martins ass and almost tore off one of his limbs...Mickey McDermitt also whipped Billy Martins butt back in the fities.Billy Martin won one baseball "fight" after suckerpunching 5 foot 8 Dave Boswell (who won 20 games that year and never won 20 games the rest of his career).If Earl Weaver ever fought Billy Martin,he would bring a gun my friend,and not play games with a drunkin nutcase like Billy The Kid.
