What's up with the Chunnel...Crazy? Awesome? Crazy Awesome!

While the Chunnel isn't actually anything exciting (the excitement you hear is of our actually going to/getting into England), it is extremely efficient. We bought the tickets online at EuroTunnel.com, so when we went to check in, all we had to do was hand the Toll-booth-type-attendant our confirmation email and our card used for booking. After that, we drove to their waiting lot. There was a small amount of shopping, currency conversion and a handful of food/beverage places. It reminded me of an airport terminal...more specifically, terminal 2 at Frankfurt. We went through customs for France very quickly, and then went through UK customs, where they actually scan your passports (all while in your vehicle, though...on your way to the lines for the train). The video really explains the rest. But, after being told which line to proceed to, you wait until your line is called to board the shuttle. You basically just drive on and off the train, then. VERY fast process, especially considering ferries can take multiple HOURS. Essentially, it is the same process on the way back. And, if we do ever make a similar trip, we will always pick shuttle over ferry, just for the speed.
