You are a pirate. Lol i pirated this video and edited it to put it on youtube. Is that wrong?

Piracy is not even close to stealing. Lets look at it like this. Would you rather not have something and the, lets say artist, dont get anything. Noone gains anything. 2. You get something but the artist gets nothing. you gain something while the artist gains nothing. It doesnt even make any sense.

Piracy is not stealing. When you steal, the original is gone. Pirating just makes a copy. Imagine someone steals your car, but it's still there in the morning.

Look at the details in my profile to find out why piracy logically doesn't hurt anyone (the character limit makes it too hard to type out here).

You are right in one sense since you can't compare buying a car to buying a song, you don't own the song, you are really buying the right to listen to it (or watch the movie).

The thing you don't understand (in the case of software piracy) is that you aren't paying for the software itself. You don't own it. All you own is a single license to use it. Yes, a license isn't physical - it's just permission from the company. But that permit is worth money, be it 99¢ or $1000. It doesn't matter that the licenses available are infinite. You're still stealing the right to use it.

Now if a person walks into a movie store, finds something and thinks to himself
"I'll only buy it if I can't find it on pirate sites"
then there is a problem.
However, this only happens in a minority of cases.
As long as people are honest in this respect, downloading won't be a problem.
I love this song. Does anybody have a pirated copy of it??
