[1] Armada 2526: Supernova

So I got the game today, and together we shall explore its features! Has this amazing game gotten any better? Or perhaps worse??

Due to being forced to use a different recording software Armada gameplay is "only" in 720p. Not that this is a big deal since the game is not the most detailed game in the world.

Also I don't have a "push to talk" option anymore, so you guys will most likely heard background noises (my dog, or my mouse/keyboard etc).

So I've been playing galactic civilisations 2 for years and years. It was just re-released on steam so been playing a bit and was pissed there still wasn't a gc3. So I goggled and found this game and distant worlds. Witch one would you recommend?

@DayInDaLife Never played Distant Worlds, but from what I understand you don't directly control the units. A gameplay element I personally don't enjoy very much.

So I would suggest Armada 2526 along with the expansion Supernova.

@JustFYIgaming Yea, been watching some tubes.. seams distant worlds is kind of like sim city but for space civs, so a lot of automation, and policy micromanagement. Still I was very impressed so picked it up. Das24680 has some great lets plays on it, so you can get an idea. I also got Armada Supernova after watching your vids but having a hard time working out the combat... Do you have any good moments in your plays you would recommend for combat?

@DayInDaLife Heh, sadly no. The combat side of Armada 2526 is very dull IMO. You can click on ships to get up spesific functions (if they have them). That's pretty much it. The most tactical thing about it is knowing what ships to send in first to take out enemy ships/buildings.

I usually just use auto result.

@siggyguy Close, and there is a reason for that. R.T.Smith, the creator of Armada, also worked on the Total War series.

I guess Armada 2526 Supernova is indeed the game you're looking for. ;)

@Anguille2 i have played both, sins is awesome but is an rts not a x4, sword of the stars it's weird, but no tutorial and i did'nt understand anything...

My suggestion would be again Armada 2526 with the addon supernova...it's very straighforward.

Else: you can get Sword of the Stars I Complete very cheap (turn-based) or Sins of a solar empire: trinity (real-time). Both very good as well and each have various let's play on youtube (search GetDaved).

@Anguille2 yeah is good but is extremely complicated, do you know another one of these games easier than distant worlds?

Distant Worlds is a very good game. A second addon should be released in the coming weeks.

My fav is however Armada 2526 with Supernova.

@Anguille2 cause the are many(not many at all) space x4, and i'm searching for a good game...but moo(all) and ig2 are too old for me and i'm undecided wich play...now i'm trying distant worlds...
