This is a test to see if I could render out scenes with 3d studio max and use them in RMXP. I import the scene images as panoramas. The red hatch marks are my tileset place holders so I can see the collision as I assign it.

  • (slams head repeatedly) ...how in any way is this 3d?

This is a glorified 2d image, nothing more.

This is just like people thinking 2.5d is real, this is simply a flat image that gives the appearance of 3d.

I mean, don't get me wrong...it looks awesome, but 3d it is not.

  • It's 3d in that, I produced all of the images using 3d Studio max. I know its still a 2d engine.

  • @StievStigma thing is, no matter how good an image is, if it's put into a 2d engine, it will only be 2d. same as putting 2d images into a 3d engine, it's still going to be 3d and not "2.5d"

I mean sure, you put a lot of originality into your game, but it's still not a 3d game.

I've actually seen a script for making rmxp 3d...and this ain't it :P

  • @ZillasElite I feel what your saying. Believe me, I'm well aware its not a 3d engine. As I said, the 3d only pertains to the software I used to model and texture my scenes.

I've also see that rmxp 3d script (not mode 7). It's pretty cool, but I don't think the guy ever finished it. I even offered to help model a 3d character set and tiles, but never heard back.

  • Its still cool ! you need to adjust the Sprite closer together and more evenly, This happened to me when I converted VX sprites to XP . how did you make this ?

  • dude its not bad tho. i would like to know how to use blender to make models and characters for use in flash movies.

  • amazing. Did you made evrythinkwith 3d max, the player include and made an event with move your player picture ?

  • @StievStigma Great job man. Using the paralax is really a good idea to use as background. awesome dude. @ZillasElite (slams head repeatedly) by 3d he means the background was generated from a 3d software. Try to analyze before mindlessly bashing

  • @StievStigma Great job man. Using the paralax is really a good idea to use as back ground. awesome dude.

  • @ShuyaTheDark

    lol xD

    Quite right! ;)

  • Whatever! Did any of you create the concept of "3D"? It's his video and he can name it "Hentai girl gets chained up and pooped on " if he wants! lol

    Nice effects!

  • @StievStigma Lol yea...guess it was just to much of a bitch to code.

Woulda like to have seen more of that.

(I hope you know, I'm not really mad at you personally, I just find it annoying when people use the 3d tag and are not actually using 3d, hell some don't even know what 3d is)

Of course I've seen a lot of idiots try and pass 2d as 3d...some even call mode7 3d which is even more of a joke to me :P I mean what's next?

"my mario game is 3d cause it's tilted at an angle, arharhar":P
