  • well that was complicated...lol

why not just make a copy of the track one with compression and one with out>?

  • @johnthesoundman That would be fine if it were just one track that you didn't plan on editing later but you definitely don't want to copy and paste a whole drum kit worth of tracks or edit your original down the line and have to re-copy every time you edit. It make take a few extra steps now but it will set up a good foundation for the session.

  • I'm not sure of your question boneraw. The compressor is added straight to the first AUX I created. If you mean adding to the second Aux then that would compress the whole audio and we don't want to do that. That would not be parallel compression.

  • very helpful!!!

  • @imDonDiestro that is good with like an orchestra performace but not so good with rock music or vocals combined with other instruments. Experiment though. You can always take it off it it changes you track to the negative.

  • @SYNDOTMUSIC You will need the second AUX to automate the volume of the track. If you change the volume on the original or fist aux all you are doing is change the amount of compressed audio you hear to less or more.

  • @boneraw Im with you man....I dont understand why he used 2 aux tracks.

  • I dont use Pro-tools but this is a good tutorial.

  • u can also by holding the cmd button and right click on the send box to set the assignments to the used one and u get a fader in the small send window! :)
