Brian Burke talks the day after the Bure trade about Bure's reasons for wanting out of Vancouver. It ends with a caller giving bs reasons about not liking Keenan and his teammates being traded. In fact, Bure liked Keenan, and all the trades happened after Bure went public with his trade request.

  • Look at the situation in florida years later.. Bure and Keenan definitely didn't like eachother. That wasn't a secret and to say otherwise only shows you have not payed attention to what transpired further down the line. It didn't end after Vancouver. And Bure was very open about being pissed when gino was traded. I would love to know what you are basing your comments on. It seems as if your memory is serving you wrong.

  • @360flip19 In Kerry Banks unauthorized biography on Bure, he goes into the situation in detail. Bure first asked for a trade following his 1st year in Vancouver. It was kept quiet, but he asked several times before finally getting frustrated and going public after Messier's arrival, but prior to Keenan's. Bure considered withdrawing his request because he liked Keenan, but after Odjick was dealt, he'd had enough. I still have tons of articles from that year that back all that up.

  • @360flip19 Pavel's problem's with Keenan in Florida were in relation to how Keenan treated his brother Valeri. I paid attention plenty, and Pavel wanted out long before Keenan arrived and went public in August of 1997. Keenan arrived in November of 1997. Since then Pavel has said almost nothing about the reasons he wanted out. He just says "it was time to move on". Plenty has come out, but Pavel won't confirm on deny any of it, he just says "I loved the fans of Vancouver".

  • @2WIREG Are you delusional and forget to take your crazy pills? Vancouver Canucks were toiling in obscurity until they got a superstar like Pavel Bure. I loved Captain Kirk, Trevor Linden and the rest of the team but they were nothing until Bure attracted attention outside of mainland Vancouver. Same thing with the Jets, they needed a guy like Teemu to really attract attention outside their small market. Burke took how many years to get here? He didn't do it overnight or cheaply.

  • @supercooled

lol Bure is why people know about the canucks? Its because of burke the leafs are finally in playoff contention in what..8 years?

  • Bure was why people know about the Canucks. You dissenting fans and Burke are ingrates. I hate that Burke is GM of my team now.

  • bure was no saint. for example beating his gf at work( was a top 3 restaurant in vancouver) plenty of witness'

bure wasnt pissed gino was traded ? bure wasnt pissed keenan stripped the captaincy from linden and handed it to messier ?

keenan+messier ruined that era of the vancouver canucks.

now messier's suing for 100+ mill

messier would go to a restaurant eat and refuse to pay"because he is mark messier"

when bure fired his dad as his training coach, thats when it all changed, like T.Woods.

  • they treated bure like shit since day 1

i read that book in 2000, i;ld like to readi it again

  • If the canucks benched him at 49 goals the players union would have blasted them

  • Do u hear the radio guys spin?
