One more review and longplay tonight - this time the brilliant North & South on the Amstrad CPC!

I call it a long play, really I've just completed the game on the easiest settings to sneak in the 10 min time limit for YouTube.

  • Hell yeah!!!That was a hit for its time!!!

  • @Misel982001 Awesome game ... not sure if it was a big hit in terms of Sales at the time - I remember struggling to find the game in shops ... but who knows such a long time ago now :)

  • Ah yes. Never had the Amstrad version, but i played the Amiga one and its amazing how close the 2 versions are. Sure the Amiga version is a little less blocky, but its all there (same cut-scenes, menus and happenings). Again the best part of these games is the 2 player option where you play heads up and get into some serious battlescenes. The way the map is made also makes sure that no one can be sure to win as the key parts in the west may revolt on you. Great game with great playability.

  • @CholoCPC Yea - after I checked out the Amiga version video and surprised how comparable they are, but you're also damn right - I missed out talking about the 2 player option which was awesome and one of the best parts of the game!! If I remember correctly even on the arcade section if you're defending you can control the bad guys defending the fort etc! Top stuff!

  • Excellent video mate of a great game. This game is recommended on any platform. Will have to hunt this down on the cpc or amiga. Nice one.

  • @ash81b4u Well worth it mate - I've been keeping an eye out on Ebay for the disk version - haven't seen it in aaages :(

  • It was very well made, but I never knew what was going on...

  • A good classical awesome and almost 16bit-ported French game on Amstrad CPC...

Was only a bit slow somethimes, but it helped a bit too.

  • The comic was sold outside France, we had it in Norway too

  • @alex76gr My pleasure :)

  • That's a favorite of mine too!

    Thanx Xyphoe!
