you should pick up the turrets and hold them infront of you, that way, they soak up the fire that would have hit you, and they do the shooting for you.

Umm, john... and all... theres a much MUCH MUCH easier way to do this. You won't die once if you do this (on hard, of course).
All I gotta say is crates and balcony.

All I did was picked up the turrets so they activated then placed them back into their holding areas then I stepped in the empty one and the turrets did all the work and since they are in their areas they cant fall over.

How could you have made a stair well? Surely you'd need some covering fire. Oh wait, you mean you did it before all the enemies came?

I hated this part so much, what I did was I took the furniture from the office and as many boxes as possible and made a fort in the little alcove. I made a little stair case with the boxes so i could place the turrets on the balcony so they can't be knocked over. Worked like a charm.
