I thank God for Randolph Watson and his legacy. As an observer of gospel music in Jackson, MS, he taught me so much about gospel music--intonation, diction, directorship, etc. The choir during its day was one of the best choirs in the Greater Jackson Area. As a seasoned musician now, I am grateful for the lessons I learned. And the lessons have opened many doors for me...
One of Mississippi's FIRST community based gospel recording choirs, The Voices Of Faith Inc... are definitely part of Mississippi history.... Founded in 1960 by Mr. Randolph Watson, this choir was originally called "The Shady Grove B.T.U. Choir"... They also served as "The Medgar Evers Freedom Fund Choir".... During the 1970's, they recorded 5 (five) studio Albums and won numerous awards all across the nation as "The Voices of Faith Inc".. Led by Cynthia Goodloe Palmer, this is a great song!!
