My child is gender variant (Transgender)... which means that during fetal development there was insufficient testosterone which resulted in the lack of male gender identity markers in the BSTC section of the pituitary gland in her brain. The result is a child who is born a natal male with a female gender identity. Gender exists between the ears, not between the legs. Everything that makes us who we are... our character, personality, temperament, and so forth - comes from brain function. Our physical bodies... fingers, toes, genitals, arms, legs, bellybutton, etc - have no bearing on "who" we are. This video/voice recording is Cammie, expressing her thoughts and feelings about what it's like to live with this medical condition. She is 11 years old. Her hope is that one day the world will understand this condition for what it is. She dreams of a day when she - and many others - will be loved, embraced and accepted for "WHO" they are "on the inside"... for what exists "between their ears"... the unique creation of every spirit, the divine nature of the soul, and the beauty of the mind. I hope you will learn something from her words as you begin to understand what it's like to be transgender - from THE INSIDE - OUT. Much love to all... and may God bless each of us on this beautiful journey that we call life.

  • I'm in the medical field. I've had some great physicians and mentors who've pointed me in the right direction. All of the medical research related to the fetal development of gender variance is available on the internet. It's not difficult to find the studies and the research. Gender identity markers exist in the putuitary gland of the brain stem. The defect has been discovered through research. Look up BSTC subdivision/gender variance. ;)

  • Ignorance tends to provide a PSEUDO comfort zone for people who aren't comfortable with themselves... much less the challenges and adversities of others. Coping with gender variance has been a profound trial in our lives... but through faith and love, we've found peace and are passing that test, one day at a time. WisterV... There is a test for you in this as well. Your test is to learn and grow from something you don't understand. You might want to search your soul for the answers.

  • Cammie is my daughter... I appreciate your comments and will make sure that she reads them. The mentorship will make her feel really good. Thank you. Also, if you want to follow our story... please visit our blog at cameronsong.blogspot.com - I have been documenting this "journey" since before Cammie's transition. I believe you will be inspired by her experience since I'm sure it will closely reflect your own. Take care and God bless always... CP

  • Are people jumping on board because an opposition to transgenders has popped up? Or are we seeing CHILDREN making an adult choice? Why is it that so many people can get behind KIDS making, in my opinion an adult choice, but are opposed to another child being punished in an adult manner for an adult crime. Why do we say "there children, they don't know any better" when somthing bad happens, but if no one gets hurt "there just expressing them self."

  • To Cammie, her mummy, daddy, family and friends.

This has been one of the best things I have watched on YouTube or even on television, as I cried for Cammie and the hurt she has went through.

I am also trans ( aged 23 ) but have not went through full GRS yet, but intend too in the near future. I have a boyfriend, a successful job, and the support of both my family and his. Very little people know about my past, and everybody just sees and accepts me as the woman I am.

To Cammie I send my love.

  • @GUNnut247 Yes, they too are perfect. ....just hurt, scarred, possibly sick, ...Yet still perfect. and sadly neglected forgotten, told they are ugly stupid and worthless........

They weren't born with the idiocy, they were born with grace and light, and then things happened......a break in cognition, whatever it may be, and their spirit died --- yet, with all compassion offered, compassion and loving light --- still perfect. their actions not, the person yes.

  • @shyboi1981 so god made serial killers and pedo and people like that guy who killed everyone at virgina tech perfect yeah right no one is made perfect no one

  • I am also the mother of a male/female transgender child! Thank you for posting this video. It is so nice to know we are not alone. I recently added a video about my daughter's transition, she is eight, and happier than ever. Feel free to watch it & share. Good luck & God Bless you & Cammie!

  • 11 is too young to have to complain about not having rights...every child should have equal rights, no questions asked. But Cassie is paving the way for future generations of acceptance, thats the most amazing thing :)

  • Wow, again, I am so proud ------ So proud.

God made everyone in hys/hyr image --- made everyone PERFECT.

Remember --- Gender is more than the body we are given. A penis does not make a man, and breasts do not make a women.

Break down young warrior, show them your "everything ness" SHOW THE WAY. *hugs* I love you

  • I love you young human you --- I love your spark, your mind, your heart, Your everything...Your "ness". I applaud your courage, your strength, your honesty and candor. You are an inspiration to many i know it.. And you are such an amazing hero to many! ...thank you for sharing your thoughts, your feelings, your.....life. thank you. thank you. I love you young one.

  • @HelenWilsonMK Look Mr Lady dude I am just trying to get laid. Don't need to know all that bollocks.

  • I feel so sorry for Cammie. I know what it is like growing up and having no one understand you. The name calling, hatred, bullying. This whole thing made me just break down and cry. Hopefully I have and can continue to make this world a better and understanding place. To be treated as less than human causes so many mental scars. It can be so hard to move on and move forward in life when you have to go through these things.

To Cammie's parents: God bless you bless you all.
