best one. good job man.
-
Definitely looks the most authentic of the top 5.
-
Out of all the entries this and the Veidt hairspray winner were the most "80's"
-
definitely one of my favorites, i can just see it in the watchmen. great job. unlike so many other entries you got the feeling and style spot on.

I am ashamed to say this is exactly what the 1980s looked like XD
-
Nice and cheesy 80s style. A+
-
Very realistic for 80s!

thank dr manhatten this didnt win. ever read watchmen, or just thought youd do it anyway?
they dont use planes
and it doesnt fit in the world in which watchmen is set
although suitably retro

I have read watchmen, the airline logos and plane were provided by the competition, I didnt make it up myself. I don't remember that well but I think planes are still in use in the watchmen universe, despite the doc manhatten influence. Anyways, Veidt Airlines isnt in the comic and they didnt choose any of the airline one to be in the movie, so I guess they decided to be more faithful after they started the competition.

Thanks everyone for voting and for all the comments! Doesn't look like this will be in the movie, but thanks to your votes it finished in the top 5 and I will be getting a new camera, which is something I definitely need! - Richie

great 3d graphic work, how did you do it?

Thanks for the props. The plane model was provided by the competition, the rest of it I did in After Effects. In AE CS3 you can set layers as 3-D layers and rotate them in 3-D space.
