Boycott Silent Hunter 5 !
Boycott Ubisoft!
It's not about illegal copies, its just to stop second hand games and to make ubisofts greedy bosses get filed with more money.

I won't buy it. Fuck Ubisoft.

@otakucode People would buy the game without the DRM, too. Atop that, people will pirate the game with the DRM. This is even more likely now that Ubi has upset is hardcore SH fans. DRM and any security attempt merely delays the game getting pirated. They don't have to make it easy, but when it starts affecting users who purchase the game then you have a problem.

There are patches out there that will disable the required internet connection... I got tired of it too because my ISP cant even replace their 30 year old cable lines...
-
lol Ubi cant fill the boots of SH3 ever again.
-
HAHA that was GOLD.

Actually Ubisoft no longer uses DRM on this game. The only thing you need an internet connection for is to get on multiplayer, just like any other game. Why they did it now instead of earlier when everyone was actively pissed about is beyond me.

One of the rare times I agree with Hitler.
This game is bullshit. DRM and stupid arcade type torpedo shooting? Are you serious?
(Line up the numbers on the screen)
Just update Silent Hunter 3 for the PC and stop changing the gameplay mechanics with every version
Godamnit UBISOFT, Take your head out of your ass

one problem u shouldnt have changed mein fuhrer to dude, just leave otherwise good job,
any way fuck ubisoft they have become the worst developers lately, and it shits me cause they fucking own the market with good titles.
You are gamers. You will buy the game. It is what you do. It is what you ARE.
No company would be stupid enough to stop using DRM when the games with it sell millions of copies. From a financial standpoint, it would be considered a risk and there is no reason to take it. Steam will let them use whatever DRM they want, and gamers will buy games regardless of DRM. It makes no sense to stop using it.

@otakucode its not that the game uses DRM...Silent Hunter has always used some form of DRM. Previous versions of the game used Starforce which proved to be buggy and rendered some legitimately purchased games unplayable. This led ubi to release a guide for removing their own DRM. the problem is that Ubisoft, in numerous interviews and forum comments told its customers they were switching to a less intrusive more user friendly form of DRM. and then they pull this always online requirement crap.
