This is one of the marches that are believed to remain from the Janissaries, the Turkish army of the old times. Imitations of their music appear in many works of classical music, including Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail.

  • @semprefidelis76 As the matter of fact Poland an Ottomans fought many times ,and apart from one war mentioned by you, we were always the winner.War you mentioned happened in 1672,Ottoman exploited internal troubels of Poland and invaded us with 80000strong army in return for peace we had to agree to pay 22000 talars and give part of Ukraine, anyway homage was never delivered and in 1673 strong Polish army took back our land ,without fortress Kamieniec Podolski which was regained in 1699.

  • @Reshad713 I'm a Turk and even I think dat wasn't possible. Turks, Arabs and Europeans can never live under the same flag. All of em got different cultures. However, I like my culture tho. Turkish Culture

  • Awesome

  • We lay sleeping after war, we lay satisfied with our reputation. We easily awake to the welcoming scent of war and we come out unleashing hell on our enemies. We are Turks.

  • The Turks could rule the world if they wanted to....salaam from an indian

  • @LBNANY More likely that the Turks were technologically uncreative. They simply couldn't compete with the Europeans and they refused to westernise economically.

  • @love2understand Come off it, the Ottoman Empire long ceased to be a Great Power by the time of the Great War.

  • @CharlesDilkes I agree with you.

  • @tuckingfwit This is true.

  • word janisary s mening in urdu in india is brave

  • Frankly speaking, Ottomans and Poles always battled on relief of others: tatars, europeans, moskals.

Both nations had not strong native reasons to fight.
