Ben Kinchlow, former cohost of The 700 Club, in this videtorial shares that much of what is being affirmed as Racism today is something he calls Virtual Racism. In this mini-documentary produced by Dylan and Josh Wade you will get a non-nonsense history lesson that is spot on. Ben says, "This 'virtual racism' would have been hailed years ago by rank and file blacks as 'having reached the promised land.'

"The thought having been 'possibly' redlined for a loan, or 'perhaps' not being promoted, or experiencing deliberately slow service at a restaurant would have been an occasion for singing, 'We have overcome.'

"I had a very interesting conversation with a young African-American man recently who owns his own business and he's also the operations manager for a very successful minority-owned business. He and his wife drive luxury imports and send their kids to a private school.

"When he complained about racism because of an article he had seen, I asked him, 'How would you define racism in America? Give me some examples.' He trotted out the usual... 'People who are refused jobs.' 'People who disagree with Obama.' 'People who use the N word,' etc.

"But I persisted. Give me a specific example of when and how have personally been subjected to overt racism or racist behavior?

"He was forced to admit that neither he, nor anyone he knew personally, had ever been subjected to overt racism? He was forced to admit that neither he nor anyone he knew personally had ever been called the N word or experienced other racist behavior from whites.

"So I asked him, 'Have you ever seen a segregated water fountain?'

"He laughed, 'You're kidding, right?'

"Nope, I used to drink out of them all the time in segregated parks.

'Segregated parks?!' "Sure! You don't think Blacks and Whites used the same parks, or playgrounds and schools do you?"

'Get out, Ben!'

"Have you ever been to a 'colored' cemeteries? Yeah, there was backs of buses, separate waiting rooms and even separate churches. You know a white church member I met years ago believed that God had ordained segregation and actually said to me that we can be together in heaven because there we'll all be washed whiter than snow. That's a true story.

"He just looked at me. So I asked him tell me again what were saying about racism in modern day America?"

Silence.

  • The whining and pity threshold keeps getting lower. We have become a nation of crybabies.

  • @CrossSwordAndShield I understand and don't disagree on principle. I think however the reason for separation from a white perspective has more to do with cultural differences than for any racially based differences. There is and will always be a difference in culture between black and white folks that's as much in contrast as their skin color is to one another. I've been to black churches, they seem a little more emotion based, Pentecost notwithstanding.

  • @ERICREPORTS McCain did not lose because he was white he lost because he was republican and after bush many people crossed over. Obama did create alot of buzz but even if he were white Mccain would have lost.

  • WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS VIDEO AND EVER MENTIONING RACISM TODAY? DON'T CAUSE A PROBLEM. DO YOUR PART IN LOVING EVERYONE EQUALLY!!!!!

  • McCain lost in 2008 because he's white. Racism for sure, too bad no one give a #*#%.

  • @outbackcafe So you observed racism from blacks, maybe that's because racism from whie people is more subtle, these day's. How are race relations in Austrlia, between white's an aborigines........... ?

  • so... your argument is America is less overtly racist than it used to be? i don't think you'll find much of an argument with that

  • @simone56 Thats not true. The way it was will NEVER be repeated. You are always going to have assholes in EVERY race and color of skin, but there are SO many mixed race relationships that PROVES people are not focusing on racism, they are focusing on just being happy. I never said a word about forgetting anything, what I said was "Let the past lye, and move on with the future that ACCEPTS ALL colors and races." Bringing this up ALL THE TIME, keeps it alive, and keeps the HATE alive with it.

  • @lifeoflove01 Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

  • What is the point??????????? These things NO LONGER go on today. Let the past lye, and move on with the future that ACCEPTS ALL colors and races. When you bring up the PAST, you are digging up better LEFT ALONE dirt. I hate racism and I HATE those that HARP on the ways of the past... WE are trying to build a peaceful life here.
