Correction, ANDROID plays everything from gameboy to snes. Droid just happens to be fast and thus, the Android emulators work well.
Although, I played all the way through Zelda: A Link to the Past, on my G1 just fine. Some more intense games such as Star Fox were slow though. For the most part, games ran great. On the G2 or similar new phones (like your Droid), they all play flawlessly.
G2 is a tad more powerful than the Droid Inc. but the Droid is still worth it if Verizon.
