Hungarian Violin busker plays Bartók

I came accross this violin player busking on the steps of the Buda Royal Castle in Budapest, Hungary (August 2006).

He played a number of peices but this one really stood out to me as being outside the usual violin busker repertoire. He didn't speak much English, and I certainly couldn't grasp Hungarian in the week I spent there, but I did manage to shake his hand and tell him he was very good.

Anyway, I showed him this very video on my camera's mini-screen, and he told me the composer was Bartók and the title of the peice was... I forgot... but I can remember it ended with 'Transylvania'.

If anybody could tell me the name of the peice he's playing, I'd be very grateful!

i cant understand how people can just walk by and not even put a small coin in the man's violin case...i just cant understand how people can pay thousands to watch football matches and not be able to spare a coin for pure art

It sounds like a strange version of Bartok's "Dances of Transylvania," but I'm not entirely sure.

simply because it's beyond their understanding and believe me, most of them would say it is annoying... but I myself am finding it very exceptional
