Shotty's Classic Series #14:

Released only in 2008, Howlin Rain's second album "Magnificent Fiend" marries acid and country rock together, creating something beautiful and relevant. Although not as fuzzed-out as their eponymous debut, the songcraft is strong throughout and the 5th track Nomads perfectly sums up the easygoing vibes.

  • none of their other songs will ever compare to calling lightning with a scythe ^_^ still great tho

  • I dunno, I've really come around to thinking Magnificent Fiend is better than their debut -- not as rocking but man it's just awesome. "Lord Have Mercy" in particular.

  • I think they polished a diamond, that is they re first album, and broutht us Magnificent Fiend, a cleaner and beautifull album.
