Aerogarden Day 36 - Jan 31st 2009

Well the basil has been harvested 3 times so far. Sometime after this video I harvested again and I cut the tallest Basil stem you see in the video down, hoping the other herbs will catch up. The one of the 3 chives that sprouted has fallen over, the chives need cutting shorter soon too.

Fertilizer splashing up and drying around the plant pots has been a problem and almost killed a few more plants until I caught the problem and washed off the fertilizer with a spray bottle. I've read online that in Hydroponic systems, if the Ph is too high, that the fertilizer will leech out of the water. Mostly its happing to the chives and mint, the 2 closest to the water opening, and where the fertilizer tabs are added, which might also be the problem.
