It wasn't Bass' first NHL fight. he had a good tilt with Jim Slater of the thrashers earlier in the season. one of his first NHL games.

I think that Bass should have gotten an instigator, because Pohl didn't want to fight, he just wanted everything to break up. He didn't even have his gloves off.

Cody Bass is awesome. the bell hit was legal, but when someone knocks out your best player you have to respond, this might have been kinda cheap, picking on pohl like that. but after your captain gets knocked out you have to make someone pay. the leafs would do the same if sundin got knocked out by a sens player.

Pohl was holding on to Bass (they both were), if he wanted nothing to do with it - he could have tried to back away. It happens with lots of players who get into little scrums like that.
