  • Lovely voice, but her diction leaves something to be desired. Vowels are rather flat and Midwestern, detracting from the dignity and poignance of this most moving song.

  • eh...it's a crappy quality video. hence, no plosive sounds are going to really carry. also, i'm not sure i follow your meaning by "midwestern". what words are you referring to?

  • where are you from and how long have you been studying?? Your really good I am a voice major myself

  • thanks! i am from philly, but i currently attend penn state university as a music major. i have been singing classically for about..hmmm.....8 years(but only 3 have been with private voice study).

  • @ania1026 people from the midwest have a very specific sound. some say its flat and nasely. Words are spoken in the back of your throat. Such as wisCANsin. I have been told this by many of my cousins when they come to visit

  • awesome job! I'm doing this song as well!

  • Probably the best interpretation of this song I've seen on youtube. You have a very wonderful, even tone, rich vibrato and I like how you paid attention to the swells in the music and took care with the interpretation of the words. I hope you're still singing and improving your craft-- the opera world could use a soprano like you.

  • Excellent performance in my opinion...It just makes me sad that there aren't really any good performances of this piece on YouTube by male singers.....I'm getting ready to start work on this and was hoping to hear some examples, but I guess I'll have to listen to girls.....Although, with girls like this one it's not all that bad!!

  • ....... ..such a beautiful element of 20th century composing and shouldn't ever get lost. Especially in such a breathtaking piece as this! Really good job though, you have a lovely

  • You sounded so lovely in this piece, lovely tones and great colour. Barber didn't actually give a time signature for this piece, which means you can do so much creatively with the tempo. I think it should be sung slower, especially when you are singing in dissonence with the piano, eg "the passing of day from night"...to sing the word night on top of the piano accompaniment......

  • @DivasraplentyIAMNOT wow, that's really rude. You have no idea what that does to people when you say stuff like that. And she isn't even close to being fat.

  • lovely!

preciosa voz! & about the dress it does not matter, your voice its so much better than anything you wear =)
