It's easy to subscribe to the belief that America doesn't have enough resources for everyone to enjoy a high standard of living. But Cheri Honkala, one of the leading figures in the movement against poverty, said at this year's Democracy Convention in Madison, Wisconsin that this is a false message. America is an extraordinarily weathy country, and each resident can live well—but according to Honkala, this will take a shift in people's attitudes towards wealth distribution and self-sacrifice.
"I see many people who I think have united with some of the ideas and this concept of sharing," Honkala says in this video produced by The Nation and On The Earth Productions, "but are having a harder time playing it out in their lives. They've still got to hang onto the two SUVs."

The People in Power keep so many American Poor,so they can use FEAR of being Poor to keep people working (and in line), as they rob America of all of OUR Natural Resources, just look at the numbers, look at the Class Warfare that has been going on for Centuries,4% of Americans have what the other 100 + Americans make working at very hard jobs, so cut me a break with your rightwing bulls..t

I hate this leftist crap.
Guys, we had this in our country for 50 years. IT DOES NOT WORK.
Inequality is natural, because people are not born the same. Thank God.

Lets share, you have stuff, I have nothing so you give me stuff. If I do have stuff, I will hide it, so I can live off you. I am good at eating, and you are good at cooking, lets be a team. In Communism, everyone wants to get, with the smallest effort. Talk to those who have lived in communism, you will see what the result is.

It should be known that there is no parallel between Communism (which is feudal slavery) and what the Native Americans had before white people came to this continent. Sharing is nice but we must allow for competition, as well. People respond to incentives. If certain teachers are more successful than others, paying them more than their contemporaries is a good incentive for them to do well. The children that are learning more because of this will be better for this, too.
