This is from a tape I made, many years ago, for my late Father; who played in a dance band in the 1920's (and after WWII) that made music which sounded JUST like this! (See final image)

I no longer have his 78rpm record and have little or no information about this recording, other than the date he gave me and the fact that it was recorded in the U.K. when Jack Hylton promoted a tour by the band.

I understand that the U.K. band was very different from the original U.S. band led by Renato Starita, and I would very much like to know who the vocalist is;- if anyone out there can tell me.

  • Great rendition! I remember having come across a Columbia disc (I don't have the references though) with Piccadilly Players, featuring Jericho and this tune. Might it be that one?
