  • That sounds interesting CTOL. I do use air conditioning in summer, one of my weaknesses, but only a little. If that was ever a burden to me I think I'd start bringing air in and circulating it through pipes underground or low on the basement wall. We need to do more experiments with this. tony.

  • I've always been a fan of fans, yet a duct rising from near the earth can provide a movement of air up to and through the hot space for free. I did this with an unused chimney space that I had since removed the actual chimney. My home is a 50's ranch. The vent inlets through sill box in the basement and a hooded inlet with screen is seen out doors about 12" above ground, works 24/7 for free.

    I have noticed on windy days hot air actually pushed out this vent , contrary to the normal "siphon"
