fourteentwelve (go sub her now) gave me a great tip on buying the Gutalele from the EU

http://myworld.ebay.com/rockshop-de/

Review starts at 1:11 if you want to skip ahead. Songs at the beginning ( 00:01 ) and end ( 5:14) are just a couple of improvs I'm thinking of turning into something someday... once I can actually play them.

Small correction - I'm told the bridge and fingerboard on the GL-1 are sonokeling/ palisander - not rosewood. I was correct about the plywood, but specifically the back and sides are maranti-faced laminate and the top is spruce faced laminate. The neck and headstock are nato.

Update again:
These are now widely available in the US for about $99.00USD

  • where did u the requinto guitar and what brand is it

  • @jesuschristgiles Amazon.com It's a no-name brand. No labels. I can see. I just bought the least expensive one with the best reviews. Worked out fine.

  • Not sure if I understood correctly- can you just put ordinary classical guitar strings on this and tune it to ADGCEA? Just ordered myself one and I'm not planning on keeping the strings it comes with for too long :)

  • @LukeGretschLuke Yep. I use regular strings, tuned up 5 half steps.

  • what is the name of the song you are playing in the beginning?

  • @scope51791 Just something I was working on at the time... an improv in Dm.
