Sadler's Wells Associate Artist Hofesh Shechter presents his highly anticipated new work Political Mother -- his first full evening creation for his internationally acclaimed company since the worldwide success of In your rooms / Uprising.

Commissioned by Sadler's Wells & Brighton Festival, Political Mother brims with Shechter's gritty and emotional complexity. Ten dancers of the Hofesh Shechter Company present an ever more surreal chain of encounters, leading to a series of shocking, amusing and touching events, which challenge our notion of what is 'normal'.

I saw it last year at The Galway Arts Festival - brilliant show unfortunately undermined by a woefully self indulgent curtain call - I hope the Choreographers cut has addressed this.

Yves took me as a surprise last night to see the Hofesh Shechter dance Company. He is said to be the most exciting choreographer working in the world today. Just extraordinary, I have never seen dancers move like this, very powerful show called Political Mother.
