Arab-Americans call for closer ties with the US - 04 Mar 09

Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, has described America's support for Israel as "unshakeable".

It is her first visit to the region as US secretary of state.

After eight years of the Bush administration, many Arab-American residents in the West Bank are hoping ties with the US will be strengthened.

Al Jazeera's Mike Hanna reports.

I really wish Al Jazeera would show more of the relations between the American and Palestinian people. What sort of effect has our cultures had on each other? I'm surprised to see that they have something of a KFC. Maybe you can do an entire program on this? I know many Americans would appreciate it, and it would draw us to them in a beneficial way.

reason you see muslim in europe n america is bcoz they are free society..muslims can visit n stay unlike middle east nations..but its wishful thinking say islam gonna overtake europe...its not,islam still made up the minority of every europe nation wit only 5-10% of population..n if your saying islam is rising..then your must be a muslim..christianity is also rising..christianity jump from 1.8 billion to 2.1 billion..islam jump from 1.3 billion to 1.5 billion..so both are on rise eh..

as geopolitcs go,...Islam will never dominate Europe. that is just wishfull,-and dangerous thinking. the West keeps subsidizing/aiding some of the very people who want 2 replace western civilization...why cant some of them get it right, and stop meaningless complaints?

people get big egos ont he internet. but if you know palestinains and israelis you know that most (except for religious fundamentalist nut jobs) are sick to death of the fighting the misery, the anxiety and the loss.

first there needs to be an arrangement of quiet. no side uttering threats to the other, each side ruling over it's own people.. then things can grow but not before quiet.
