Yet another game which uses what looks to be a Nintendo generic format. The sequence format is more like Mario Kart 64, but with a few changes it can play in Mario 64.

Music format specs/parser tool can be found at my site:

Thanks to unknownfile for warning about Starfox.

  • Now that sounds pretty cool. I wonder if there are any other possibilities, that is, of other Starfox musics that could play in Mario 64?

  • In theory, all the sequences from Star Fox can be played from Mario64, however the drum tracks usually get messed up because the samples are different.

  • Well, I meant any musics that would "sound good". I'm not talking about code, I'm talking about aesthetics. :) Like I said, this particular music sounds neat especially on this level, even when it uses SM64 instruments.

  • Ops, sorry. I still have to listen more the SF64 soundtrack, but the problem is that it's very "military", so most of the time it doesn't fits well on the Mario universe (except maybe for Bowser levels, like this one). I'll see if there are other suitable songs.

  • Boss E music is the only music.

  • Star wolf team theme would be better

  • The resemblance is there, but it's too urgent. It makes sense for SF since you can't pause with the music (Thus you're always in constant motion), but for a platformer, the pauses in the track sounds more like audio ques for the player to stop moving before continuing. This is great for a speedrunner, but for most players, this choice of tempo would of been changed pre-production.

  • IF there was atime limit to these stages (like you had to bust ass to make it), this music would go so much better.

  • I love how well the boss music cues in with the start of the level! Also I thought that considering that Star Fox 64 was on the same system, it would sound the same as it always did, perhaps different chips were used for the cartridges?

  • CANT LETCHA DO THAT MARIO
