Sears apologized and refunded my money within 4 days of this video being uploaded (around 600 Views). Check out http://MadAtSears.blogspot.com for Updates, Song Downloads, Press, Facebook, Twitter and Myspace.
The concept for this video was inspired by United Breaks Guitars. Like Dave Carroll, I am also from Eastern Canada (there is literally only 2.5 hours between Halifax and Moncton by car).
Unlike Dave, I am not a professional musician (I'm an auditor). So, when I suffered some bad customer service recently, I thought this would be a fun outlet for my frustration (and it was).
I looked into Small Claims Court, but that costs $50, so I thought I would try this first for free using 7-day trial MAGIX Music and Video software. BTW, thanks to viewers like you, I won a MAGIX user-generated-content Contest. Now imagine what I could do with more than 7 days ;-)
I had considered writing a letter to Sears Head Office but from what I have read on Blogs, this does not accomplish anything. I think the new Sears is due for a public shaming.
This video is also influenced by the viral works of another Canadian - Jon Lajoie. Like millions of other people, I have watched many of his clips repeatedly. Last month, I went to see him live in my hometown of Moncton, New Brunswick and he did a skit on How to Make Successful Online Videos - this is what I came up with.
My sister thinks I have too much free-time. Truth be told, I did this when I should have been sleeping. With a full-time job and a 4-month-old in the house, sleep-time became my free-time.
I created this video with a $0 budget. Well, in the video I'm wearing an Official Canadian Olympic T-Shirt that I paid $20 for - but as a proud Canadian, I was going to buy one anyway :)

Yo Yo Sears Lyrics:
Aw yeah, this beat goes out to my hommies
The peeps on the Blogs
The peeps on YouTube
And the peeps still on Hold
I bought a Sears snow blower in two-thousand and two
It's getting pretty old now and went a bit askew
It stopped moving and that's important to me
Try pushing it into a snow-bank and I think you'll agree
I called Sears service 'cause they have the proper parts
But choosing them for service is where my trouble starts
The tech came over to fix it like new
I figured out later this guy had no clue
Yo, Yo, Sears - I'm talkin to you direct
Give your Customers some respect
Good service used to be your proposition
Now it's a telephone inquisition
As it turns out, my Axle Bolt was rusted
And the wheels don't turn when that Bolt is busted
The tech put in a Shear Pin instead
That's the pricey repair I now dread
Used it 5 minutes, then had the same issue
Sears did not apologize or offer a tissue
I looked at the manual and the parts were wrong
He used a Shear Pin where an Axel Bolt belong
Yo, Yo, Sears - I'm talkin to you direct
Give your Customers some respect
Your Technician is apparently unskilled
So I would appreciate getting unbilled
When the tech suggested fixing it with a weld
I knew his abilities really smelled
So I fixed it myself using the parts in the book
But you charged my credit card, so I'm on the hook
They said call 1-800 to get back my beans
The call would be answered in the Philippines
For a month I called, you did not call back
Then you hung up on me, I think that's whack
Yo, Yo, Sears - I'm talkin to you direct
Give your Customers some respect
Your Customer Service is not funny
And I would like back my money
wow, that's weak. You have one problem, and the world is coming to an end!! They fixed my washer, same day and within 48 hours of calling. It's people like you that have made all retailers tighten their rules.

@SuperSteelerman123 Wow, that's great. They did seem serious about improving things when I talked to them on the phone about the video. Last month, I talked to an experienced laid-off Sears Technician and he said they are training people to bring Service back from Contractors.

Bought a garden tractor ($3000)end of last Sep,used twice,it was end of the season.1st time, I noticed I had to turn the steeling wheel to right to keep it going straight. I thought I got 1year warranty, I would call service next spring when I use it again. Today I was told that I should call right away, now I had to pay for the service and part. They don't even bother to diagnose the problem, just told me " the 1 year warranty won't cover it!" I don't understand this, what i should do. SUCKS!!

That does suck. My snowblower cost roughly half that and had a 2 year warranty and Sears did come to the house to fix it once during that time (with a Tech who knew what he was doing). I guess those were the good 'ol days of Sears.
Why not Yo Yo Yourself?! I will help out anyone who downloads my single from iTunes. If you have a legitmate Customer Service issue with any company (not just Sears), I can help you get a video together and blast it out the same Social Media channels I used.
