Dan Rumney is a student of improv as well as a super nerd. His Ignite presentation explains how bringing improv skills into the work place can benefit all companies. Creating an environment that allows creative thinking makes companies more agile, more responsive and more competitive.

He talks about one of the most well known tenants of Improv is the principle of "YES! and..."

In addition, improv teaches people to

• Suppress their egos
• Treat everyone like a rock star
• Really listen and then make connections.

By using improv techniques your company can come up with new ideas, solve problems and have more successful brainstorming sessions for growth.

What is Ignite!? - It's fast-paced, fun, thought-provoking, social, local, global and more. It's a high-energy evening of 5-minute talks by people who have an idea—and the guts to get onstage and share it with their hometown crowd. Run by local volunteers who are connected through the global Ignite network, Ignite is a force for raising the collective IQ and building connections in each city.

The rules? You have 5 minutes and 20 slides to tell your story, share you passion, and hopefully enlighten the audience.

Ignite Austin? Ignite Austin brings together an inspiring and unexpected blend of thinkers from business, art, technology, government and academia. All with ideas. And all willing to share them.
