Great song some of you may recognise from the closing credits of the Wes Anderson film "Rushmore".

The Faces was the band Rod Stewart was in before he went solo/crap, and also Ronnie Wood before he joined the Rolling Stones (both had come from the Jeff Beck Group.) Rod was the front man (and I think original member Ronnie Lane handled some of the singing too) but I believe it was Ron Wood who sung this song.

I actually recorded this three weeks ago but didn't think it was good enough, but after watching it again today I decided to upload it, so enjoy! I made a mistake in the first chorus, but hey I recorded it at 01:30, ok.

  • FUCK YOU Rod is the greatest ever, you don't deserve to be singing this (I couldnt give a fuck if it was Ron Wood originally) its terrible, then you criticise the best singer of all time. Honestly your voice is verging on a joke; you sound stoned and SHIT

  • I'm sorry, I wasn't aware I didn't deserve to have an opinion or my own taste in music. How dare I. For what it's worth, I do think Rod is a good singer, I just don't like some of the music he made (specifically disco and love ballads) after going solo. Also I think labelling Rod greatest singer of all time is a bit much. Rod is good, but Sam Cooke blows him out of the water, and I think even Rod would agree with me on that one.

  • you and your jokes, Sam Cooke (just looked at him on here) is just another folk/soul singer. Rod can sing any and every genre from swing to fairly hard rock, I'm not a huge fan of his latest stuff but it still shows how good he is, his charisma originality and ability to sing with emotion is unbeatable. To criticise Rod is to criticise perfection personified, which in your case is massivley hypocritical judging by this weak performance

  • If calling Stewart "crap" is crime, then calling Cooke "just another soul singer" is an outright indignation. The fact you had to look up Sam Cooke tells me you're out of your league. Sam had charisma in spades, and ability few can match. In fact, Rod's vocal delivery and phrasing in his songs is directly inspired by Cooke. It's sad that not many people know of Cooke or his legacy... he helped define soul music. Rod's a good singer, but I'm just not into his solo work, and I'm entitled to that.

  • People havent heard of Cooke cos he is just another soul singer, Rod can sing anything from any genre well, you're entilted to nothing

  • Haha. Ok, mate... Sure.

  • fucking bravo guy!

  • HEY man you did a good job! don't listen these people who can't even play/sing a note!

  • Piss on the lamers. Stewart didn't sing this on the album, Wood did. BOTH were too busy to show up for the benefit to get Ronnie Lane an iron lung to help him with his MS. That didn't stop them from selling copies of the song from Stewart's "Unplugged' show after Ronnie Lane had died. BTW, Sam Cooke RULES!!!!

  • Dope jew curls homie! mad respect

  • why do you guys blow things out of perspective just if you dont like it then you dont like it big deal ME myself like it alot but thats just mee

  • Great song and hell of a subject.
