The West Somerset Railway over the 1st & 2nd of august were running there annual Steam Fayre and Vintage Vehicle Rally so the WSR took this as an opportunity to run a mini gala along there line.
Due to being stationed at Williton for the first half of 2009 due to problems King Class 6024 King Edward I was back and hauling trains along the WSR after very long absence and also to get her back in her stride as she would be back hauling a 75mph express some weeks later.
Also running was the 2-8-0 trio 88 and 3850 and due to the WSRs DMU doing a shuttle service to Norton Fitzwarren thanks to the new Norton platform Class 14 D9526 was to be covering for the DMU hauling 3 coaches up and down the line.
We start of at Washford station were we see 6024 slowing for the stop with her train bound for Minehead. Soon after we see 3850 tacking the last of washford bank with a Bishops train.
We then move to the southern end of the line to Churchlands Bridge were 88 is seen in her element with a train for the seaside, soon after 3850 is seen again trundling down the hill soon to arrive at Bishops.
Next we move Leigh Bridge to see the king take on the bank to Crowcombe then 3850 is seen again at Leigh Bridge with the last train of the day to Minehead.
Finally we see the Class 14 storm Roebuck with its train for Bishops.
Enjoy!
