  • Great videos. Enjoyed seeing Pat and Rob lift at Long Beach State a few months ago. How much time/volume do you have your lifters doing just cleans as opposed to full C&J in training?

  • @fish3754 Usually we do full lifts to jerk failure then continue up until missed cleans.

  • Impressive, how long has he been doing the lifts and does he have prior strength training under his belt?

  • @bullebongen 1 year total. He was a swimmer / water polo.

  • How long did it take this athlete to train up to a double bodyweight clean? And can he jerk this?

  • @man10941 less than 1 year. He did 140 c/j at a meet.

  • I can clean 60kg at 90kg bodyweight, u guys mad?

  • @stevo946 hahahah same

  • His face at the beginning made me laugh so hard haha

  • I was a wayward soul. My best strict press off racks was 230 pounds at 152 but my best squat clean was only 5 pounds more! My gymnastics background and still rings had me obsessed with upper body power. A good lifter has to have strong legs and back. I would have weighed 20 pounds more if my downstairs was developed like the upstairs.

  • Impressive

  • very impressive! lots of strong dudes at your gym!

  • Why don't more gyms like yours exist in the US? I would love to train here.

  • pauses it when it bounces!!!! HOLY BEJUBUS THAT BOUNCED HIGH!

  • Its pretty damn impressive for a skinny guy to even be able to front squat 140kg after a year of training. Props to Ian and his coach.

May I ask if there is any specific point of focus for devolping this much ability this quickly? Back Squats? Front Squats? or just training the clean damn hard?
