Assemblymember Portantino Tries to Close Loophole in Open Carry Gun Law

(Sacramento) -- In California, any registered gun owner can openly carry their gun in public as long as it is not concealed and not loaded. Gun activists have taken advantage of the loophole in California's gun law, by organizing large "open carry" events in public places. Many members of the public have been disturbed by the display of weapons. Law enforcement has had to respond to make sure the guns were not loaded. That's why California State Assemblymember Anthony Portantino (D-Pasadena) has authored Assembly Bill 144. AB 144 would eliminate the loophole in California's law that allows people to openly carry an unloaded gun in public. Learn more in this Assembly Access Video.

Another California Assemblyman who doesn’t follow his oath of office. All representative should be removed immediately if he or she tries to take our Constitutional Rights away.
