The World Cup selection committee has arrived in the US to tour potential match sites to help them make a decision on where the 2018 tournament will be held. Other competitors include the British and a joint effort by the Spanish and Portuguese.

The 24-member FIFA Executive Committee will make its decision on the host nations for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups December 2. The United States was the site of the 1994 World Cup, which drew 3,587,538 fans, the most in history.

  • The problem is America almost lives in a bubble when it comes to sports. You guys call it Soccer, when it is known as football everywhere else in the world. You guys call rugby with armour - football.

You don't have the passion for it or the infastructure, I can't see every game getting sold out. It needs to come to the UK.

  • @simply2ghetto Attendance for the 1994 world cup in the states has been the highest in history. We have massive football stadiums in every major city (sometimes 2). How about England in 2018 and US in 2022?

  • @Heidibear76 LOL you are a genius.

  • @simply2ghetto Stupid comment. First of all there are close to 100 Million football ( soccer ) fans in the U.S. that's almost double the population of England and more than the whole U.K. Second, the word "SOCCER" originated in England not in the U.S. Third "OUR" football needs to be played in armour. Have you seen how hard they hit in American Football? It ain't like rugby where guys collied then push each other for god knows how long and also: BORING.

  • Canada for the 2026 FIFA World Cup!!!!

  • @akmal3677 well if racism decides the countries who can host the game ,then the game is finished.NO COUNTRY is free of racism. So take your ball outside and let it be target practice for a terriorist.

  • I think russia will win the hosting of fifa world cop in 2018!!!!!!!!!!!

  • FiFA are corrupt tossers, they need to be reformed

  • dump racist-tude then u.s it be.

  • @simply2ghetto Who cares how is it called in the USA....That is one of the most weakest and terrible arguments ever!

We don't have the infrastructure? Are you kidding me? The first World power doesnt have the infrastructure to host a WC? LMAO

Thirdly...The 1994 has been the most successfull world cup ever..Google it up.

And forthly..The USA its the most diverse country in the WORLD.

    Get your arguments straight.

  • @simply2ghetto

Most Americans also don't give a shit about the Superbowl, if we're going by 'majority'. Only 100 mill or so Americans watch the Superbowl, in a country of 310+ million. So your logic fails.

We're a huge country. 'Most' doesn't mean anything here. We can succeed better than 'most' other countries with a minority of our population being interested.
