not worth the price

oh, okay, I guess that isn't that scary then, lol, I forget the glow is gas based not incandescent based.
-
@Exarian Oh, a couple milliamps...and it's all encased in metal, so you can't get zapped unless you poke something way inside it somehow to connect to the high voltage. But since most folks don't understand much about electricity, I guess it could be pretty scary.

not the voltage I'm afraid of, what kind of amperage does that thing run on? the volts make it hurt, the amps make it kill... well, the amps can hurt too, I guess, lol.

if the capacitor was discharging every second (or wtv time update like in this case), yes i would.

That's so Geekotronik....
Where did you get it? :)

You'd have to open up the camera to do that, wouldn't you? That's quite a different situation than just using the camera...or wearing a watch...
I'm really careful when working around high voltage, it's been a few decades since I've been bit.

Have you ever accidentally discharged a flash unit's capacitor across your fingers?
It's really, really painful and I don't recommend it.
I've had it happen a three times. Once 22 years ago, then twice in one evening a month ago.

Looks quite steampunk-ish. Like it :-)

Yes, but it's less voltage than is used in the electronic flash on cameras. Are you also afraid of cameras?
