I rescue pit bulls however I give the ones that attacked second chances to retrain them and then place them for adoption once animal control does temperament test on them. But when it comes to someone losing their life I would hate to say it but any dog that attacked and killed a person without being provoked needs to either be in a program to see if a second chance is a option or put the dog down.

When that woman in California was killed by the apartment neighbor's Presa Canarios, it became national news. Breeders nationwide reported a surge in interest in the breed. Most owners know they will not face criminal charges if their dog attacks. What can you do? Sue the owner for the $12 they have in their pocket?
