@rickcee OUCH!!!
-
how many players have won the mvp awards twice and not in the Hall of Fame? Maris belongs, the press should be ashamed of themselves.
-
Roger owns the single seaon home run record, and Henry Aaron owns the career record. PERIOD!

Why is Mr. Maris not in the HOF? He's certainly HOF material. If anybody says otherwise certainly doesn't know shit about Baseball cuz how can they say he's not? And Robin Yount is, huh? Not to mention he was elected on first ballot, wtf?! They probably don't even know who the black Babe Ruth was. To me Roger Maris still holds the single season record. He won it legitimately.

Kudos to the Maris boys for handling baseball's elephant with class. I wouldn't have been so kind toward those filthy cocksuckers McGuire Sosa and Bonds who ass fucked baseball and all the truly great heros of the game. Don't expect any justice for Roger while that crooked bitch Selig remains in power but when he goes all true baseball fans should unite to demand an OFFICIAL restoration of Roger and others to their rightful places in baseball history.

how about Peary's Movie books? far more known for that isnt he?
-
Put him in the hall of fame he hit more home runs in one season than the babe could and was a solid defender along with mantle he only played 11 years imagine if he played more maybe 450-500 home runs
-
@fairyfellermaster ROGER [ real name merris ] was a better fielder than mickey mantle because roger would jump in the air and catch home run balls
-
Reporter: "now that you've hit 61 homers you think you've earned their (fans, the press) respect?"
Rog: "gosh... I don't think that's something you earn in a ball field..."
That's something few baseball players these days ,if any, could say. Class, class, class all the way. Roger Maris= unofficially longest held title of homerun king.
To me, Maris's record is untouched! Those other characters;Sosa, McGuire, and Bonds? All steroid freaks and corked bats to get to tow Maris's mark. Roger was an all natural ball player and should be at the Hall of Fame baybeeeee!

The press ruined Roger's reputation for fans by making him seem surly. Well, he WAS surly, but mostly toward them. Then he got to believing that everyone was against him and was curt with all adult fans, but he was nice to us kids who hung around to get our gloves signed by Yankee players. I had a Gus Bell model MacGregor glove--sweet thing it was too. It was signed by the entire '61 team when I was 11. Someone out there has it--got it when they stole my car in 1980. U know who you R, you POS!
