This is me playing the organ intro (a.k.a the "Foreplay" part) of Foreplay/Long Time, which is a song by Boston off their self-titled debut CD. I learned it by ear. The accompaniment was arranged by me, and the organ is live.

This is a smoking fast keys part, so it took a bit of effort to learn by ear...not to mention that the organ in the original track is really quiet and hard to hear. I'm 99 % sure I got it right, though.

  • Hi! My name's Lexi (: I'm the chick singer in the band Silk n' Suede that performed Forplay/ Long Time. I just wanted to say thank you so much for sticking up for me. I agree that wasn't the best song for my voice, but it's nice to hear someone tell off that guy that pointed out my shitty vocals. (: by the way, great piano skills! You're the man.

  • @L2daN wow, that was a long time ago! you're very welcome :)

  • Fuckin' awesome dude! I loved it... where did you get the tabs? coud you make a tutorial video or something?

  • @ZehJack thanks, please read description, i said i learned it by ear.

  • Dude.... thank you for showing me the way. lol. i Actually just started playing the keys, been a guitar player most my life. But i'm currently learning this song for my band and it's giving me a hard time. any tips? I have most the notation down but it's the speed that kills.

  • @Hodgkins91 well first of all, to be honest if you just started playing the keys then this song is probably too hard for you.

for tips, i would recommend general good keyboard form: like guitar, you want as much economy of motion as possible. practice the fingering carefully and make sure it's as efficient as possible, and keep your wrist and hand level; let the fingers do the work. keep your fingers on the keys at all times, even when not playing. hope that helped, good luck :)

  • The 5 people who disliked this prove to me that people can actually be tone deaf. Awesome job bro.

  • This is almost Emerson-like. Nice job
