The original supervisor was played by Gregory Sierra (of Barney Miller fame) and was killed on duty after the first couple episides. Castillo showed up shortly thereafter. After Crockett & Tubbs were already partners.

@MarcusDarling4026 i think crockett and tubbs were already partners when he showed up. the original lt was killed in the first few episodes, and they started their partnership in the pilot

I could see everyone from vice still in action too, Thomas, Johnson, Olmos, and Talbot are almost ageless with possible exception of hair. I can imagine tubbs and Crockett, maybe updating their wardrobe and driving around in a brand new, white 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia, and Switeck in a turqoise 2003 Thunderbird.
