PSA Abominable Snowman - balancing your meal

Another in the series of "junior consumer tips" by the Better Business Bureau that aired frequently in the 70's.
Junior Consumer. I think I can speak for all 70's kids when I say I'll never forget the sense of pride I felt in having that distinction bestowed upon my person. I recall, too, looking forward to the day when I could bear the title "senior consumer" with honor and integrity. How I felt my heart would burst in anticipation of that day!

I have about 1 second of that one (where they leave to go somewhere and leave on radio & other stuff). It was cut from a tape someone made for me, and all that remains is one second of tease

When I was a kid I thought that the voiceover at the end was saying "A *genie* consumer tip...", and I wondered, what's a genie consumer tip?

Channel 56 was the best station we ever had as kids. Also known as the 5th channel, when all you had was an antenna to connect.

I remember these TV PSA's that The Ritts Puppets did..they were really informative and fun..beter than the schmutz that you'd see on PBS TV.

I saw this pop up in the related and didn't think I knew it.... but as soon as he said "chocolate layer cake...." it all came back and I was able to finish the entire line before he finished. Thanks for the unexpected nostalgia!... can't believe I forgot/remembered this.

Crazy: I have actually used the phrase 'Balancing My Meal' so many times in my pathetic life that I forgot that THIS was its origin. sheesh.
