Jade Warrior (Jadesoturi) (2006) Finnish Trailer

Directed by Antti-Jussi Annila
Story by Iiro Küttner
Screenplay by Antti-Jussi Annila, Petri Jokiranta

Thousands of years ago in ancient China, a love struck sword hero fights against his destiny. He wants another chance to be reunited with his loved one and he gets that chance, in a far away place and a far away time, in the cold north, in modern Finland. Jade Warrior is set in ancient China early iron age and present day Finland. The past is feeding the story in present day, slowly revealing our warrior his real origin, his superior skills and his destiny. Jade Warrior - the first Finnish Kung Fu film - combines Finnish and Chinese mythologies into one film. Jade Warrior is an homage to Kung Fu genre strongly spiced with a truly original approach to Finnish national epic Kalevala. Like Kalevala Jade Warrior is a pure melodrama. A story of Kalevala´s greatest hero.

  • 80% of Finnish genes are from single ancient North-European population, while most Europeans are admixture of 3 or more principal components

muhahaha, we are the oldest europeans!

  • Yeah, except that the two movies aren't alike in any way:p The only similarities are chinese and martial arts, which would also render pretty much all chinese movies made after Flying Daggers ripoffs of it. Have you even seen this movie?

  • @Dannykorpyk Our language is an older European language than the Indo-European languages. Speakers of Indo-European languages came to Europe after the Finns. And they came from Asia: Southern Russia, Asia Minor, just north of India. Who knows exactly? But Finns were in there modern whereabouts - & some related nations east lived of them, beyond Urals - when the Indo-Europeans came in contact with them.

And the contacts have given loads of Indo-European words into Finnish. Languages always mix.

  • the fight sequence with the staff fan girl vs antihero was really cool. they used pakua, the same martial arts used by aang on avatar. lol :p
