Another Dream Away (Godin Freeway SA, Roland GR-20 & GT-3, DigiTech JamMan Solo & Vocalist Live Pro)

Performed with the Midi Guitar at Espresso Yourself on the last day of music... "Another Dream Away" is on my solo live CD as an acoustic guitar song, and as a full band song on the Citadel CD D'ANthologie 2. Since I've wanted to bring out the midi axe for my friends at EYMC, I took this opportunity to 'live-test' my Godin Freeway SA and Roland GR-20 to add in the string quartet. I've used the Godin in recording sessions but this was the first time I took it to the stage.

"Another Dream Away" employs the verses to describe feelings of stagnation, apprehension, masking, rushing and grasping moments out of our day-to-day lives. The chorus intends to represent how in the midst of our mundane tasks, glimpses of hope in the next new day are caught through the straining mind's eye. Even though we may resist the rainbows, we are all "working to be inside another dream away" - - -

Here, the Godin is MIDI coupled (with the 13-pin connector) into the GR-20, there the isolated Guitar Out of the GR-20 feeds the Vocalist Live Pro, and is then sent through the Boss GT3 , thru the Yamaha MG82cx mixer, and with the DigiTech JamMan Solo looper routed thru the MG82cx effects send, I can feed both the guitar and synth guitar sounds into the looper... it is all sent as a stereo feed from my board into the house system. As always, I am singing thru the Audio-Technica ATM-73a into the Digitech Vocalist Live Pro, which is also routed thru the MG82cx. Using the house board at EMYC - audio was captured using the line input of the Kodak Zi8 camcorder (the same camcorder I used to record my live album) -- Thanks to Ben Ahlteen for the house mix!
