@mrbriscoe2001 I came to pretty much the same conclusion. Bardem's Chigurh reminded me of a flesh and blood version of the original Terminator.

I think the movie is a comment on what are society has become. More to the point what kind of people our government is creating. If Anton is a vietnam vet then he has been trained to kill. Drugs are illegal driving the price up to the point of people killing for them. The sheriff is shocked of how psychotic someone could be. Good old US of A. Point is there will be more Antons coming around a neighborhood near you.

Theres some good lines in this movie: 'You have any of them french fried potaters?'
-
"Probably I don't"
"That's a dead dog" "Yes it is"
"If it ain't, it'll do till the mess gets here."
Three lines from the same scene that have managed to make their way into my daily speech (yes, the second line is from earlier in the film, but it's still the same shootout scenery, thus the same scene.. gr.).

Ahh...a fellow traveler....you always remember a "good" bad guy.Dennis Hopper, like Javier Bardem, had the ability to terrify you even through your awareness that it was "just a movie"
guess what idiot.. this movie is special.. not just another gay hollywood fuck.

you're so far off base, you aren't even in the ballpark anymore...
sheriff bell IS the main character...
you ought to know a little something before you go spouting off, junior...
you are the one with your head in your rectus.
so hush now, and let grown folks talk...
