What amazed me was Kariya came back in the game and scored a goal shorthanded
-
@shshao Kariya was barely midway through his second stride when he was hit. This was not identical, there was a full second longer and much more of a stride before the Rome hit.
-
@Praying4tidalWaves more like forever.
-
@shshao No. This hit would now be called a hit to the head, which is a justified suspendable offense.
-
What? Look, there's not always that much time to make a pass and then turn your head in the direction you need to go in order to stay in the play before someone like Stevens steps into you. I understand that. But, what Stevens did here, in today's NHL, would be illegal only for the contact made to the head, albeit by way of the jaw. But, the timing of it was 100%spot-on. Should he have asked for Kariya's permission first? Or, maybe waited until he saw the whites of his eyes?

@TheWTFCentral Hey WTF, I can see you are like that fucking nit-wit MULDERFOX999. Learn how to fucking spell. "un neceary" It's one word "Unnecessary !" What is it with all the fucking whiners in this forum, they are all untrainable retards. BTW Stevens has 3 Stanley Cups - Kariya has how many...let me count...that's right ZERO! Go tell mommy that it is time to change your diapers. LMFAO!
-
@MULDERFOX999 Hey nit-wit you might want to look up the word "decency". You remind me of one of those Philly faggot whiners.
-
@MULDERFOX999 hahaha i dare you to say that to the guys face lol, not the cleanest hit, but by no means a pussy, just search up his hit and fight highlights, he wasnt afraid to get his hands dirty
-
Not a big hockey fan, but as a fan of sports and decensy, this stevens guy is a big pussy. Checking a dude when hes not looking? Fucking bitch.
This hit is identical to Aaron Rome on Nathan Horton, which is now called a "late hit" and got him suspended for four games.
Identical. Pass off by Horton / Kariya, took 3 strides in the opposite direction, and boom.

As amazing as this was, with the knowledge we have of concussions today, there is no way he would have been allowed to play in the same game had this happened now.
