  • how big do these carpet pythons get, I read like 4 - 6 feet is it more than that?

  • hi tyler, the biggest IJ carpet that has been recorded is 6 feet. but usually they only reach around 5 feet.

  • nice video mate my i j wont fucking eat got nany idead why

  • How old is your IJ? Have you set the temperature right? It happens to IJ carpet sometimes. But mine never have difficulties to eat. My friend had the same problem once. And he put his IJ to a dark place for about a week. After that he gave a live prey (because we don't have frozen mice here in Indonesia) and his IJ eat. I hope your IJ eat again mate.

  • Great video man, I also have an Irian Jaya, currently she's about the same size as Yours (80cm). I simply love to watch everything she does, and the feeding is aways something special to me :-) Usually I feed her frozen mice so I have to "play live mouse" a little bit with her :-D

  • Thanks Bick0. Have you try giving yours live prey? how much did you bought her?

  • Dude, nice snake.

But if Indonesia doesnt sell frozen rodents, could you not just kill the prey first then offer it to your snake?

Im lucky in that frozen rodents are easy to get here in the UK, although I still breed my own for my snakes. And unless my snake wont take pre killed, it will never get live.

Although all my snakes have always taken pre-killed apart from one fussy mangrove snake (boiga dendrophilia).

I either use a CO2 gas chamber for mine, or quick blow to the head.

  • how big will a irian jaya python grow ?

  • @trixlao Voastal Carpet Pythons are documented in captivity at ten feet in length. An IJ Can get almost that long. My two year old Coastal is now right at 9 feet.

  • are these snakes pretty snappy"? iv been looking into getting one but i dont know much about them im trying to learn as much as i can before i go get one any tips would be great

  • meencantan cuando cazan desde el aire, un video muy bueno.

  • omg feed him every fucking weej dude....not 2-3 weeks, gthats like what u feed when hes almost full grown. and a 3 foot carpet python can eat way bigger then a dam pinkie rat...bro go do so dam research cuz u shoukld be feeding it a decent sized rat. i would look in promper tempurature and humidty as a cause of him not eating

  • hey i also have an irian jaya and mine is only about a year old give or take a couple of months he is about 3 ft give or take and i was told to feed him once every 2-3 weeks cause the first time i fed him he ate the pinkie rat fine but a week later i gave him a pinkie rat and he didnt even pay attention to it so im wondering if u can give me some advice about him

  • nice!

  • Depends on the snake. I have 2 IJ carpet pythons that won't bite or be aggressive with me no matter what i do to them, yet they never refuse a feeding.

I've got another that is a spawn of satan and tries to get her teeth in me every chance she gets, i have to handle her in garden gloves.

Just handle the snake before you purchase it, and make sure its not coming out of a cold cage so you get a feel for its actual temperament.

  • dude, thats one awsome snake!! :) im thinking about getting one in the not too distant future. What are they like temperament wise?
