The current world record (according to Guiness World Records) for the plank position is 33 minutes and 40 seconds, set in Queensland, Australia on 11 May 2011 by 68 year old Paul Drinan.

What would be the ratio of crunches to planks
For example would 30 sec plank be like doing 20 crunches?

how often do you do this planking, just once a day?

@chr1sred Depends on the program. Sometimes once a week, other times 2...sometimes zero. It really depends on your current fitness level and what the program you're currently on is designed for/what you're trying to accomplish.

I was told by my gym instructor to not do sit ups and crunches because for some reason my back hurts while doing them, he advised me to do planks , do planks give the same outcome as sit ups and crunches?
