I adore Gigli, but I actually giggled a bit after hearing that first run.

While Gigli's voice is one of the most beautiful in history this performance of a great aria isn't among his great moments. The breath support is questionable, the runs are aspirated, and his sense of Mozartian style is pure Cilea.

This must have been one of his later recording...he's a bit old here and you can tell....Corelli,Gigli and Caruso are my favorite tenors ever..not neccessarily in that order

This has got to be the worst rendition of Il Mio Tesoro ever recorded. If you can't sing coloraturas, you shouldn't sing coloratura arias. Is there a Gigli recording of the bravura version of Fuor del Mar out there? That should be even worse.

Thank you for this wonderful version. He makes it sound so easy and filled with obvious delight. Not perfect, but who cares! Right in between McCormack and Tauber. So melodic, but with just the right amount of "operatic" singing.
