This computer-generated animation demonstrates transformations of architectural design. The video shows buildings designed by two great architects, Gottfried Semper and Le Corbusier, and the emergence of new designs using a novel modeling system to compute design transformations. The modeling system, based on design grammars, captures the essence of architectural styles and computes their transformation.
The building models were created with Procedural Inc.'s CityEngine prototype on a Linux PC. The animation was selected as entry at the famous Siggraph 2005 Computer Animation Festival.
