I have begun using Growbags for transplanting, rather than using plastic containers. They are much less expensive, and very easy to work with. I like the bag in a tub system because it allows me to keep a constant supply of water to the bottom of the plant . This could be applied to most any variety of transplants, regardless of what type of vegetable garden you have. But if you're using this outside, make sure you have drain holes on the sides to prevent the tub from filling up with rain water.

  • What brand of bag do you use? I've been interested in trying this out due to cost of plastic pots being out of control!

  • @ScruffyBueno I'm not sure the brand. I used up all I had and didnt keep a label. But I got them online, discount - hydro dot com....they oughta be sending me a check as much as I've told folks about them! Other places sell them too, of course. Mine are white/black, so I can reverse them if necessary.

  • Buddy, I just found your channel and I love it. Thanks so much for posting these vids, I can see your workin your butt off and I love your homestead, by the way I aint to far from ya. Im in Martinsburg, WV

  • @keith19692 Ty Sir ! Yep , you're just the other side of those little hills ! lol Really beautiful country up there.

  • I like this system and will have to try it ,, love the Vols hat too !

  • @stymye Ty sir ! So far, so good. Still working on getting the nutrient levels just right. Got a couple of plants with some BER. Some varieties more prone than others I guess. Nothing major. Gonna brew up a batch of tea with some additives like you suggested, see if I can help them a bit. Also, I read that worm tea was helpful in dealing with whiteflies...interesting.

  • @mhpgardener haha yes you should get a percentage. Thanks for the reply, I went to a few hydro shops around here and finally found some 1 gallon bags. Probably exactly what you have. Hope they work and thanks again!
